Annual Banjos & Brunch Fundraiser Planned

The 17th annual Banjos & Brunch fundraising event for Habitat for Humanity will be held Saturday, Aug. 21 at Southern Star Central Gas Pipeline at 4700 Kentucky 56 in Owensboro. The 9:30 a.m.-to-11:30 a.m. brunch, which is open to the public, will feature bluegrass music by Randy Lanham and Friends and a southern-style menu.

“Building Dreams” is the theme for the event, which will offer a silent auction, gift baskets, quilts, household accessories and handicrafts. For a preview of silent auction items, visit Habitat for Humanity’s window display at Towne Square Mall on South Frederica in mid-August. Habitat annually honors community volunteers at the brunch with its “Hall of Frame” award. This year, long-time members of Habitat’s construction crew will be honored.

Tickets are $50 per person or $350 for a table of eight. Reservations may be made by contacting the Habitat office at 926-6110 by August 13. Tickets also will be available at the door the morning of the event.
