Give Credit Where Credit Is Due!

So many kind things have been said about my winning the Athena Award. Many have sent cards and clippings for me to mail to family (thanks to all of you). Let me now give credit to some of the Heroes of Habitat…

First the folks we see every day starting with Laura Bailey who keeps the office running smoothly (even through an audit). Verne Bethel keeps all the construction supervised and going smoothly. Jim Constant assists Verne, getting materials & keeps our can drives going. Lelia Gaines & Vickie Osborne counsel applicants & track sweat equity hours. (both are also active in Scholarship Committee and Soap Box Derby projects). Sara Martin keeps our landscape looking good.

We have a great board with John Williams as the new president with ideas to help us grow even stronger. Tammy Johnson has stepped up as our new treasurer. What a team of Committee chairs—Bro. Phillips/Family Selection, Carol Owen / Covenant Church, Kit Gallagher/Family Nurturing, Cheryl Cook/Fundraising,Tina Temple/Nominating, Frank Stainback/ Property and Bill Wickerham/Payment Tracking. Bob Kirtley is Parliamentarian and keeps us on track. Joanne Masters, Sylvia Lovett, Marian Bennett and Cheryl Roberts - our GREAT PR group.

Many more generous folks donate time, energy, skill, and money to Habitat. Thanks to you all (if I forgot to mention your name, just remember you get an extra star in your crown!) Speaking of which, how about the Lord blessing us with 300 hibiscus plants? What a gift from Heaven. We can, and do, plan, but its fun to see the Lord come to us and give us a gift. Makes my day every day. Bless you all for your kind support and friendship to Habitat.
